Information Markham and Volunteer Centre (CIC)
Working with a team of Markham youth representing the various High Schools in Markham, you will be responsible for volunteer advocacy, event planning, promotion and volunteer recruitment to ensure all youth in Markham have access to and are aware of the various volunteer opportunities that exist locally.

Role Description: 
We are currently seeking committee members to help support IMVC’s Strategic Plan and to take the lead in the planning and implementation of key deliverables. 
Committee members will be required to complete assigned tasks in order to meet the mandate and objectives for the committee. 
Finance Committee 
- Members of the Finance Committee will provide oversight and direction as it pertains to the finances of IMVC 
- Members must have a solid finance/accounting background 
- Canadian accounting education 
- 3 to 5 years Canadian accounting work experience 
- Bookkeeping experience is desired 
- QuickBooks experience is desired 
- Experience in working with non-profit organizations would be considered an asset 
- Key tasks will include the review of monthly reports to ensure financial accuracy, as well as to bring forward recommendations on any cost efficiencies 
- Opportunity for committee members to develop leadership skills by participating in committee work 
- Hands-on involvement utilizing individual expertise and knowledge 
- Be part of a dynamic, passionate team who are driven towards success 
- Attend monthly committee meetings 
- Be informed on issues or business to be discussed 
- Express opinions clearly and allow others to express theirs 
- Accept responsibilities to share workload and to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner 
Time Commitment: 
- 3 to 6 hours per month, to include attendance at committee meeting and completing assigned tasks 
- Minimum of 1 year commitment is required
