We are seeking new volunteer camp counsellors who are able to commit to one week of camp programming in summer 2018 at one of the following locations: Camp Ooch North (Muskoka), Day Camp (Markham) or In City Day Camp (Toronto). New volunteers will also be eligible to stay involved year-round through our unique In-Hospital and In-City programming offered across Ontario – including locations in Ottawa, Hamilton, London and the GTA.

Shine Through the Rain provides support for families dealing with life-threatening illness. Through the Rainy Day Fund we provide financial assistance to help pay rent, utility bills, and transportation costs. We provide support groups, care packages, camp scholarships and camp backpacks for children who are healthy enough to go to camp. 
Our annual events allow us to continue to help our patients. The Event committee are a group of volunteers who meet once a month and assist in arranging our events, particularly in bringing in donations, sponsorships, recruiting participants and selling tickets to our events.  
• Bring in donations, volunteers, connect us to potential sponsors 
• Act as volunteers themselves, particularly in prepping for events – stuffing swag bags, wrapping presents, etc. 
• Attend all signature events and act as volunteer 
• Promoting the charity and our fundraisers 
• Sell tickets to our events 
• Attend as many of the monthly meetings as possible 
• Act as an ambassador for Shine Through the Rain when representing them in public or to the media 
• Provide onsite leadership during events to help guide and organize volunteers 
• Complete all duties taken on/assigned at meetings before the due date 
• Supply the Event Coordinator and the team with regular updates about progress on the tasks/assignments 
• Provide post-event feedback including successes and areas where improvement is needed 
• Distribute posters or other marketing materials 
• Present ideas for improving events and ideas for fundraisers 
• Bring in sources of third party fundraisers from time to time 
It is expected that each committee member will:

• Be polite and helpful to all guests and especially patients 
• Be willing to participate and assist in any way necessary, including set up and tear down, registration, assisting with activities such as silent auctions, balloon pops, raffles, etc.

• Bring up any complaints privately in a constructive manner

Library of Persian literature (3000 + books) someone to help us organize and re-shelf books, who can work in ACCESS to imput the Book title (in Farsi) from a hard copy list into a searchable ACCESS database. 
Event Support - Need help setting up a moving tables, setting up decorations, reception support to register attendees, hand out name tags (when required) 
Marketing Support - Keep contact list of organizations and individuals current and complete for mailing and invitation purposes. Occasional hard copy flyer distribution to community centres and schools. Phone and e-mail outreach to make peopole aware of specific free programs. 
Information and Referral - Individual who can assist clients with how to understand and complete forms and applications (i.e. health, financial.) Help clients with their resume. Information referral support on inbound calls and walk-ins who inquire about services available in the community. 
Drivers- to drive seniors to and from their appointments, seniors companions, home cleaners, grocery shoppers, translators and interpreters.
Cyrus Foundation & Community Centre
The Community Outreach Coordinator is an experienced professional responsible for cultivating strategic partnerships through community outreach activities. This position develops sponsorship/business arrangements and relationships with businesses, individuals, schools and other organizations interested in supporting Cyrus Community Centre general operations and program areas. This position interfaces regularly with the leadership of the Board of Directors and reports to the Executive Director.  
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: 
• Work with Cyrus Community Centre leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive and innovative community outreach plan targeting individual, private, corporate, school and other organizations.  
• Work collaboratively and seamlessly with staff to identify new potential foundation, individual, private, corporate, school and other organization partners.  
• Determine potential partners relevant to Cyrus Community Centre through ongoing research and evaluation, and cultivate those prospects that best align with Cyrus Community Centre’s strategic short- and long-term priorities and needs.  
• Solicit grants, gifts, and sponsorships from new and continuing partners.  
• Submit proposals to engage potential partners on behalf of Cyrus Community Centre in a timely and consistent manner. This includes developing concepts, gathering and formatting information and preparing clear communications.  
• Research and assist in developing plans for expanding the Cyrus Community Centre presence.  
• Serve as an ambassador of the mission of Cyrus Community Centre in the interaction with current and potential partners and the media.  
• Maintain current reports submitted to the Executive Board and Board of Directors. 
Position Qualifications and Knowledge:  
Education and Experience:  
• College Diploma (or second year college student) required.  
• Business/development experience. Marketing experience highly desirable.  
• Proven success in meeting and exceeding performance goals.  
• Must have documented successful partnership cultivation experience and a keen understanding of fundraising/income development.  
Job Knowledge and Skills:

Shelter Movers of Toronto
Moves may take place in and around the GTA (including Toronto, Markham, Brampton, etc.)
Here at the Shelter Movers of Toronto, Move Volunteers are key to our organization's work in helping victims of domestic violence flee abuse through no-cost moving and storage services. Move Volunteers make up the bulk of our volunteers, so you'll be in good company! 
A Move Volunteer participates in each of the three types of moves: Urgent Exit, Escorted Move, Resettlement Move. In a group of 2-4 movers, Move Volunteers pack and move a Client’s belongings. Movers who have a valid driver’s license may also be asked to drive the moving vehicles. 
Major Responsibilities 
- Meet other moves at arranged time and place 
- Move Client’s belongings in and out of vehicles 
- Provide trauma informed care and respect for Client confidentiality 
- Continuously conduct risk assessments throughout a move 
- Maintain communication with all movers during move 
Knowledge & Skills 
- Able to lift moderately heavy boxes/furniture 
- Friendly and sociable 
- Good judgement skills 
- Able to cope with potentially stressful situations 
- Able to maintain confidentiality and provide trauma informed care to clients

- Ability to speak additional languages is an asset! 
Qualifications & Requirements 
- No previous experience or education is required 
- All volunteers must attend Volunteer Orientation in order to complete moves 
- Volunteers are required to review move procedures which will be provided at Volunteer Orientation 
- All volunteers must obtain police background check 
- All volunteers will coordinate regular check ins with SMT staff to support learning and performance management 
Move Volunteers will be provided with training in trauma informed care.

We’re entirely volunteer-based, and have grown from 2 volunteers to over 100 in just 12 months. We’ve been able to complete over 150 moves in our first year alone with the help of our amazing volunteers.

We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual with experience and skills in Website Management and E-commerce. The Social Media and Web Manager will be responsible to develop, maintain, and update the organization website, including production of web content, in a manner that is appealing to targeted audience, developing brand awareness, generating inbound traffic and encouraging product adoption.  
The Social Media and Web Manager will be responsible for writing, editing, and proofreading site content under the supervision of the Executive Manager. We would like to improve our visibility through the development of promotional campaigns, online marketing and website design using social media and the Cyrus Community Centre website. Our aim is to find a competent candidate who will provide useful know-how towards this goal. In addition to maintaining and updating our website, the candidate will be required to manage presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, and other similar community sites, posting on relevant blogs, and seeding content into social applications as needed. 
The Social Media and Web Manager will be responsible for implementing the social media strategy, coordinating with team members to ensure its effectiveness and encouraging adoption of relevant social media techniques into the corporate culture and into all of the Cyrus Community Centre’s products and services. 
The Social Media and Web Manager will stay up to date with emerging web technologies through relevant blogs, review and events.
